Paladin Blessings: Order out of Chaos

For those non-Paladins out there, I'm going to let you in on a little secret about those great buffs that Paladins provide for you. Blessings are a pain in the butt. Everyone always wants a different Blessing, they don't last as long as other buffs, and they are a pain to coordinate.

What I'd like to do with this post is help take some of the headache out of Blessings by listing the order of importance I place on various blessings for various classes. While this won't help you coordinate blessings between you and your fellow Paladins (see PallyPower for that), it should help by reducing the amount of thinking you have to do. The ordering will be broken down into catagories, such as physical dps or healers, and any Blessings not available to the raid should simply be skipped. I'd also like to emphasize that these lists are my opinion, and feel free to comment if you feel that I've made an error.

Protection Warriors
Blessing of Light* > Blessing of Kings > Blessing of Might > Blessing of Sanctuary
*Only if a Paladin is healing

Protection Paladins
Blessing of Light* > Blessing of Kings > Blessing of Sanctuary > Blessing of Wisdom > Blessing of Might
*Only if a Paladin is healing

Feral Druids (Tanks)
Blessing of Light* > Blessing of Kings > Blessing of Might > Blessing of Sanctuary
*Only if a Paladin is healing

Holy Paladins

Blessing of Wisdom > Blessing of Kings > Blessing of Salvation > Blessing of Light

Healers (Holy/Disc Priests, Restoration Shamans, Restoration Druids)
Blessing of Wisdom >
Blessing of Salvation > Blessing of Kings > Blessing of Light

Caster DPS (Warlocks, Mages, Boomkin, Elemental Shamans, Shadow Priests)
Blessing of Salvation > Blessing of Wisdom > Blessing of Kings > Blessing of Light

Physical DPS, non-mana based (Arms/Fury Warriors, Rogues, Feral Druids)
Blessing of Salvation > Blessing of Might > Blessing of Kings > Blessing of Light

Physical DPS, mana based (Retribution Paladins, Hunters, Enhancement Shamans)
Blessing of Salvation > Blessing of Might > Blessing of Kings > Blessing of Wisdom > Blessing of Light

Edits: Split the Healers and Holy Paladin lists

For the Horde and the Naaru!

Nice. We prioritise Blessing of Salvation over Wisdom for non-pally healers, but other than that we do about the same

I think you over value Blessing of Light. Light helps exactly 1 Healing class (Paladins). It does nothing for the healing of your Druids, Shamans, or Priests.

When I assign buffs my first priority for Tanks is Kings. In one Blessing you get increased Threat and increased survivability.

It's also very content based. The easier the content is the more I want Blessing of Wisdom or Might over Light or even Kings.

To me, the issue with Greater Blessings is that they are class based and not group based (like every other buff in the game it seems).

So it can be a struggle when you have multiple specs of just about any class other than Hunters, Mages and Warlocks, and a limited number of Paladins.

Your DPS Warrior has to get a normal (10 minute) Blessing of Salv and you have to Salv him AFTER you buff all the rest of the Warriors with Blessing of Light.

HolyWarrior,
Placing Savl over BoW is certainly an option for non-Pally healers, but I think it's mostly dependent on the TPS your tank is pumping out. My guild's healers don't seem to have threat issues, so BoW is the usual choice. That said, my guild usually runs with at least two Paladins (even in Kara), so making that choice is usually not an issue.

Honors Code,
I agree that BoLight only benefits Paladins, but since I feel that Paladins are the healers that are tasked with healing the MT more often than not, BoLight would provide a good deal of benefit. In addition, as I stated above, my guild almost always rolls with 2+ Paladins (I don't know why we have so many) so the Light vs. Kings choice is usually moot.

In our raids tanks ALWAYS get BoL because we'll invariably have at least 5 Healadins. 1 Holy priest (maybe) 1 tree and maybe 1 resto-shammy.

But, obviously depends on your healer core set up!
