Gary Gygax

Gary Gygax, one of the co-creators of Dungeons & Dragons, died the morning of March 4, 2008, at his home in Wisconsin.

Though not every WoW player has played D&D, WoW, and every fantasy MMO, owes a debt of gratitude to Mr. Gygax for his hard work and dedication to the fantasy RPG. Besides J.R.R. Tolkien, Mr. Gygax has done more to create the modern fantasy RPG than anyone else.

While his passing is a sad occasion, it is only fitting that died on March 4, Gamemaster's Day.

May you continue to roll 20s, and may your crits be plentiful.
Rest in Peace

"I would like the world to remember me as the guy who really enjoyed playing games and sharing his knowledge and his fun pastimes with everybody else." Gary Gygax, 2004

"As long as people gather around a table to roll dice and slay dragons, Gary Gygax won't be truly dead." Anon. 2008
